Service and amenities killed by the low rumble from the 3 elevators going up and down all day and night. I've only had one other hotel where the elevators were constantly heard. Our room was on the 18th fl facing the city - not near the elevators. No idea why it's so bad here. No coffee available in the hotel early morning. DD 2 blocks away. It's the little things.

Underwhelming customer service provided by Manager

I had an unforeseen medical emergency and I was not able to travel even though I was checked in. I am a Diamond Member so I asked as a courtesy if Hilton Back Bay would waive any cancellation fees. Sidneia (the Manager) was hard to get a hold off and I had a suspicion she did not want to talk to me after she denied my request. After several phone calls and waiting on the phone for 40 minutes. I finally got a hold of her. I explained my situation and I mentioned my status and how much I travel and that I was asking for an exception. I mentioned also that another hotel had waived the fees and Sidneia told me this was not an ongoing thing. I had to explain to her this was an emergency, i.e. unforeseen circumstances. I asked for a reason for denying my request and she said she did not have time to deal with this. I asked again for her to waive the fess because I know it was up to her. She started to talk back to me and talking to me in a sarcastic rude manner. I have another year of travel into Boston and I will make a point to NOT ever stay at this location. Sidneia has no interest in customer service. She should not be in this industry. In my years of traveling with Hilton I have never ever been treated this way.

Distinguishing good hotel management from bad

One way you can tell good hotel management from bad is how they handle problems. If they know there is a problem with a room, do they make the guests figure it out and complain? Or do they just own up to it and mitigate it up front? The room I was in-1907- was crazy hot and didn’t have WiFi. I had to figure out that turning down the thermostat was not helping, and then call down to the front desk. Meanwhile, my kids and I are sweating in our room, trying to sleep, when it’s 30 degrees outside. Opening the window helped a tiny bit, but the only thing that truly helped was a box fan - which they delivered promptly after I complained. They should have just had a box fan and a note, and kept the window cracked. As for the WiFi, they should have told me before I checked in - I would have switched hotels if I had known. Instead I had to figure out it wasn’t working, even though it showed up as an option. Then, when I complained, they said they were working on it. The next day, still wasn’t working - find out it’s a problem in multiple flours, and they didn’t have an ETA on when it would be solved.

Super good location. Super good views of the Charles River. Very handy for the trolley tours directly outside the hotel. Super good breakfast staff, they have been super good for years I do believe, ever so friendly service, Front desk Erika was also super good. Lobby area very attractive. Would stay again

It was my first stay at this hotel; I usually stay at the Marriott Copley square when I come to the area. The Marriott is nicer (better bathrooms, better gym, and more seating area in the lobby), but the rooms here were spacious and modern. I loved that the room had a window that could be opened. What really made the hotel was the service. Front desk was great, restaurant staff was friendly, and housekeeping actually cleaned every day, not just restocked as seems to be the norm since Covid, even in higher-end hotels. Location was good, I don’t think it was attached to The Prudential Center, but if you cross the street to the Sheraton, you that is.
